Pastor E.A Adeboye Early Life and Education
Pastor E.A Adeboye was born on the 2nd of March, 1942 in Ifewara, which is located in Osun States, Nigeria. He hails from the family of Adeboya.
He has a very poor family background. Pastor E.A Adeboye once described how poverty affected their family. He said they were very poor that even other poor families called them poor. He related to Esther Edetoun.
Pastor E.A Adeboye started his schooling in 1956 when he attended Ilesha Grammar School which is located at Ilesha, Osun States, Nigeria.
After his primary and secondary school education, he proceeded to study at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in Enugu States Nigeria.
Because of the ongoing civil war, he opted to study at the Obafemi Awolowo University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 1967. It was in 1967, he got married to the woman he loved who goes by the name Foluke Adenike.

The year 1975, he got his Ph.D in Applied Mathematics from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. His success in academics saw him become a University of Lagos professor in Mathematics.

Pastor E.A Adeboye became part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973. There, he served as an interpreter before ordained as a pastor in the church by Pa. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi in 1975.
He became the General Overseer of the church in 1981 after his first three years of becoming a member. He filled the role part time at Ilorin due to his job as a professor in UNILAG.
