Funke Akindele Early Life and Eduction

Funke Akindele was born in Ikorodu, Lagos States, Nigeria in August 24, 1997. She is the second of three children. Her mother is a medical doctor and her father is a retired school principal.

She atteded Grace School, Gbagada, Lagos States. She got an Ordinary National Diploma in Mass Communication from the former Ogun States Polytechnic, now known as Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. She earned a Law degree from the University of Lagos afterwards.

Funke Akindele rose to fame after starring in the popular United Nations Population Fund sponosred sitcon “I Need to Know” from 1998 to 2002. She played Bisi, a curious but brilliant secondary school student.

Her big break out came in 2008 when she appeared in the movie Jenifa. Mainstream Nigeria press reported that Jenifa was set to star in Infinity War as the gUard Dora Milaje, citing IMDB.

Some weeks later, her name was replaced with that of a fellow Nigerian actress Genevieve Nnaji. In July 2016, in an interview, she stated that she was acting less in the Yoruba film industry because of piracy.

Funke Akindele played the lead character in the ongoing hit TV show Jenifa’s Diary, alongside some amazing actors and actresses, like Fisayo Ajisola, Falz and others.

The show is a spin off from the movile Jenifa. The 2018 comedy film Mom’s at War stared Funke Akindele and Omoni Oboli. In july 2019, Funke Akindele started a new web series called Jenifa’s Diary.

Funke Akindele is the CEO OF Scene One Film Production. She also made directorial debut in the 2019 political drama film, Your Excellency.

Funke Akindele got married in May 26, 2012 to Adeola Kehinde Oloyede but they got divorced in July 2013. She got married again to a Nigerian rapper JJC Skillz in 2016 in London and they has three children togather.
