Wizkid became very popular and rose to the international linmelight in the year 2016 after he lent his vocals to Drake’s awards wining songs, one dance which was a global hit. The singer and songwriter dropped his fourth studio album Made in Lagos, in October 2020 and ever sice it has been released into the public domain, the project has gone one to win numerous awards and set different records.
One of the album top singles, Essence, became the first Nigerian song to chart on Billbord Hot 100. It was announced in February 2021 that he has attained the honor of being the most streamed Nigerian artist on Spotify, amassing over 3.4 billion streams from all his works.

Still on Wizkid biography. Wizkidwas born to the family of Alhaji Muniru Olatunji Balogun and Jane Dolapo Balohun on the 16th of July 1990. He is 34 years old. He was born into an inter faith household, where his father practiced the Muslim religion while his mother honored the Christian faith.

He is a Native of Ogun State in the South West region of Nigeria, he comes from a large household as he has twelve siblings who are all females. Wizkidwas raised in a polygamous home in the Ojuelegba district of Surulere City in Lagos State Nigeria. His Father married three wives.

He spent his formative years in lagos city, which exposed him to the rich Nigeria music culture and helped foster his passion for the discipline. He attened church regularky with his mother and other siblings and immersed himself in activites relatig to te choir unit his local church.

At eleve, he has co-founded a music group name Glorious five and they released an album before disbanding to pursue solo careers. During this period, he went by stage name, Lil Prinz. His interest in the music was bulted by listing to music legends like Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Bob Marley, Luck Dube, King Sunny Ade and others.

He advanced into teenagehood and he began visiting the recording studio of iconic Nigeria producer OJB Jezreel and he became acquainted with the older artistes.

In the year 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment, owned by Banky W. He co-wrote the single “Omoge You Too Much” on Banky W’s album “The W Experience” that same year. His debut single “Holla At Your Boy” was released on January 2, 2010 and became an instant hit. It earned him the Next Rted Artist award at the Headies in 2011.

His debut album “Superstar”, was released on june 12, 2011, featuring a fusion of Afrobeats, Dancehall, R&B and Reggae sounds. It garnered critical acclaim and won Best Album of The Year at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

Wizkid contiuned to release successful singles and albums, including ‘Ayo” in 2014 and Sounds from the other sind” in 2017. In 2016, he got international recognition when he was featureed on Drake’s hit single “One Dance” which reached number oe on the Billnoard Hot 100 chart.

After leaving te EME, he formed his own record label, Starboy Entertainment and signed artist like Legendury Beatz and Maleek Berry. He also signed a record deal with RCA Records in 2017.

His international collaborations include working with artists like drake, chris brown, Tyga and Beyonce. His album Made in Lagos was released in 2020 and achieved international success with song like Essence topping music charts.
