Yahaya Bello Biography – Yahaya Bello is a Nigerian politician and businessman. He has served as the governor of Kogi State. He is an All Progressives Congress member and the youngest governor in Nigeria.
He ran for president in the party 2023 primaries but was defeated by political titan Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Yahaya Bello Early Life
Yahaya Bello Adoza was born on June 18, 1957 in Agassa, Okene Local Governemnt Area Kogi State, to the family of Mr and Mrs Alhaji Bello Ipemida Ochi. Yahaya Bello is the sixth and final child of six children and a Kogi State native.
In 1984, he started his elementary education at LGEA Primary School in Agassa, Okene LGA. He then went to Anyava, Agassa-Okene’s Agassa Community Secondary School.
But he did not stop there with his secondary. He attended several schools before graduating from Suleja-Niger States Government Secondary School.
Yahaya Bello continued to take his “A” level exams at Kaduna State Polytechnic in Zaria in 1995 and was accepted to Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria in 1996 to study accounting. In 1999, he earned a degree in accounting.
He graduated from ABU, Zaria, with a master’s in business administration (MBA) in 2004. He holds a chartered fellow designation from ANAN, the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.

Yahaya Bello was hired by the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission where he worked in 2022 after his NYSC.
He started as a Revenue Officer but was soon elevated to Accountant. After that, he got the job of Assistant Chief Accountant before leaving the Commission.
Before the stock market crash, Alhaji Yahaya Bello achieved financial success after eventually learning the stock trading strategy. His stock portfolio includes transportation, economics, oil and gas, and agricultural companies.
Then, he expanded and added to his real estate holdings, spreading them over several states in the union. He holds the positions of managing director of Fairplus International Limited and Chairman of the Kogi Youth Arise Forum.
He founded the Kogi Youth Arise Group with other politically astute young people to launch his political career. The group backed Buhari and Osinbajo’s presidential campaigns in the past election.
The group also mobilized young people throughout the state’s 239 wards in support of President Buhari. He announced his intention to run for governor in the 2015 election on the APC platform, garnering the enthusiastic backing of young people around the State who wanted one of their own to steer Kogi towards a better future. On the 6th of December 2015, he succeeded the deceased previous APC candidate.

Yahaya Bello is married to three women and is a devout Muslim. He is fortunate to have a large family and some of his pastimes are reading traveling, driving, soccer, and also boxing.

Yahaya Bello’s interest in running for the presidential election was announced in April 2022. In his speech, Governor Bello vowed to update President Muhammadu Buhari’s legacy by bringing wealth to 20 million citizens by 2020.
Despite finishing second in the primary election, he asserted that the lessons learned from the contest had been successfully internalized and would be useful in future political endeavors.
